Right now, if you were to look at my financial situation, you’d probable say I am ‘bad with money’.
I basically live paycheck-to-paycheck, have a negative net-worth, and am making little progress in the right direction.
But, since around February, my SAAS app Closet Assistant has generated me a few thousand dollars. This has helped me become ‘better with money’.
It’s somewhat hard to balance a budget when your income isn’t enough to satisfy the required outgo. It just doesn’t work, and that was my life for a couple of years.
Fast forward to now, things are a little different. I can actually decide where my money goes and how it will be spend/saved. I can actually pay everything that needs to be payed and have money left over to be diligent with.
That’s the goal for the rest of this year (in my personal finances), to be diligent and get everything current and start our debt snowball.
Technically, I should be able to start that next month. This month (and last) were pretty crummy due to some additional fees on our student loans.
Becoming debt free by 30 is my ultimate goal. It’s certainly not impossible (I’m 26), but it’s going to take a lot of work.
But, for now, I just want to be good with money and be diligent with what I have.
