If you want it done right, do it yourself.
That’s what I have lived by for the majority of my life. And by default, I ended up doing all of the work that I needed to get done.
It hasn’t limited me much yet, but I can see it coming in the future. There will be some things that I need to delegate to a team so I can focus on higher priority/higher level tasks, and I won’t know how to relieve the work on to them.
Delegating is the secret to scaling things that don’t scale. It involves people, and it involves communication.
People and communication aren’t my forte as of right now. I much rather prefer to dive into code and keep everything to myself. That’s why I (as of right now) only enjoy products, and not client work.
Multitasking is the wrong word - it’s more like working on multiple big projects at once. I prefer to start and complete projects before starting another one, but that’s not completely realistic.
Somehow I was able to make it through college without too many problems, but every once in a while I get stressed out because there is one project that is clogging the pipeline of other projects that have deadlines.
I need to figure out how to work on pieces of projects at a time. I need to figure out how to delegate and lead a team instead of doing all of the work myself.
